Le parrain et la marraine re\u00e7oivent une mission d\u2019accompagnement des parents pour la transmission de la foi \u00e0 l\u2019enfant baptis\u00e9. C\u2019est la raison pour laquelle ils doivent \u00eatre baptis\u00e9s. L\u2019Eglise demande qu\u2019ils aient <strong>seize ans r\u00e9volus, qu\u2019ils soient baptis\u00e9s<\/strong>, cat\u00e9chis\u00e9s et normalement m\u00eame confirm\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Certaines familles \u00e9prouvent de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 trouver un parrain et une marraine. Un parrain ou une marraine peut suffire. Par contre, on n\u2019admettra pas deux parrains ou deux marraines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accepter d\u2019\u00eatre parrain ou marraine, c\u2019est une responsabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 prendre au s\u00e9rieux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lors de la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration du bapt\u00eame, ils signifieront leur engagement \u00e0 aider les parents dans leur responsabilit\u00e9 chr\u00e9tienne. Ils marqueront le b\u00e9b\u00e9 de signe de la croix. Avec les parents, ils d\u00e9clareront renoncer au mal et professeront la foi des chr\u00e9tiens. L\u2019un des deux remettra le v\u00eatement blanc \u00e0 l\u2019enfant, l\u2019autre recevra la lumi\u00e8re de la foi qu\u2019ils auront \u00e0 transmettre avec les parents \u00e0 leur filleul.
